Q. Who can benefit from our services? A. There are two categories of people we help: Those experiencing foot, knee, or ankle pain, and those who want to improve their performance, such as athletes and active, older adults. We offer a full range of comfort footwear, prescription and over-the-counter foot orthotics and an experienced staff to help you feel better and perform at your peak.
Q. How do I schedule an appointment? A. Whether you want to see one of our Certified Pedorthists or Othotists, (prescription from your doctor is required), or are looking for personalized advice, simply call us at 585-473-5950. Please notify us by 1 p.m. the day prior, or 1 p.m. on Friday for Mondays, if you have to cancel your appointment. A $20 cancellation fee will apply if notification is not received.
Q. I have a prescription from my doctor for a custom foot orthotic or other service. Can the Foot Performance Center help me? A. Yes. Please call us to schedule an appointment at 585-473-5950.
Q. I need help with insurance forms. Where do I go? A. You can download insurance forms here. If you need additional assistance, please call us at 585-473-5950.
Q. Does the Foot Performance Center accept insurance? A. Yes. However, you should first check with your insurance provider to see if your procedure or equipment is covered. You may contact us if you need assistance with your insurance forms and the approval process.
Q. Do I need an appointment to visit your store? A. No, you can always visit our retail store. However, if you want to meet with one of our Board Certified Pedorthists or Orthotists, we recommend you make an appointment by calling 585-473-5950.

GLOSSARY
ABC: American Board for Certification in Orthotics, Prosthetics & Pedorthics, Inc. This is the organization that certifies our Pedorthists and Orthotists.
CO (Certified Orthotist): Orthotist who has passed the certification standards of The American Board of Certification in Orthotics, Prosthetics & Pedorthist, and maintains certification through mandatory continuing education program and adherence to the Canons of Ethical Conduct.
C.Ped (Certified Pedorthist): Pedorthist who has passed the certification standards of The American Board of Certification in Orthotics, Prosthetics & Pedorthist, and maintains certification through mandatory continuing education program and adherence to the Canons of Ethical Conduct.
Custom Fabricated Orthosis: Orthosis, which is individually made for a specific patient. Created using an impression generally by means of plaster or fiber cast, a digital image using computer-aided design-computer aided manufacture (CAD-CAM) systems software, or direct form to patient.
Edema: Swelling of the tissue.
Gait: One’s manner of walking.
O&P: Orthotics and Prosthetics.
O&P Facility: The place where Orthotic or Prosthetic patient care is provided.
Orthopaedics: A medical specialty dealing with the locomotor and musculoskeletal systems. Purpose being, alleviating painful or debilitating conditions and providing assistance for abnormalities or limited actions of the lower limb.
