Foot Pain
We demand a lot from our feet. Walking, running, jumping, working and injury can sometimes cause pain in our feet. There are also dozens of medical conditions that affect your feet, including complications from diabetes, overuse or other conditions. At the Foot Performance Center, we offer a whole range of solutions, starting with being properly fitted with the correct shoe type and size .
Bunions:
At the Foot Performance Center, we treat people with bunions nearly every day. A bunion usually takes the form of a bony bump at the base of your big toe. Bunions can be painful due to tight footwear, joint motion and arthritis. Doctors often prescribe off the shelf or custom arch supports or special footwear that can ease the discomfort. We also have a full line of roomier shoes that can accommodate special padding and shoe modifications.
Calluses:
Calluses are a build up of hard skin and are often caused by ill-fitting shoes, hard work, or overuse. First, we can ensure that your shoes are fitting properly. Sometimes plantar keratosis develops, which is deep callus under the ball of the foot due, often caused by a problem with the metatarsal (foot) bone. We often modify the shoe or arch support to reduce the pain from the plantar callous or pressure.
Plantar Fasciitis:
Plantar Fasciitis is one of the most common ailments of the heel and arch. The plantar fascia is a band of tissue that connects the heal bone with the toes, and can cause pain if it becomes inflamed or irritated. We offer many off-the-shelf and prescribed methods to treat this often painful and difficult diagnosis. Quality, well fitting shoes can give your feet the support they need so they can heal.
Other problems:
From turf toe to overuse injuries, we can provide your feet the support so you’ll feel better. Come by our store and have one of our expert staff assess you with the proper shoe or arch support, or make an appointment to see one of certified pedorthists or orthotists. It’s your first step to finding relief from your foot pain.
